DP World ILT20 Partners With Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation To Promote Cricket
The DP World International League T20 (ILT20) and the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) have embarked on a strategic partnership. This collaboration marks a significant moment for cricket in the Gulf, authorising the DP World ILT20 to organise official T20 league matches for both men and women within Saudi Arabia in upcoming seasons.
This partnership not only aims to bring high-caliber cricket matches to Saudi Arabia but also focuses on the development of the sport within the country. The collaboration involves the DP World ILT20 working hand in hand with the SACF and its commercial entity, the Cricket Investment Company (CIC), to unearth and foster local talent.

A noteworthy aspect of this alliance is the creation of a direct pathway for Saudi Arabian players into the DP World ILT20. In a move that underscores the league's commitment to regional talent, the upcoming Season 4 Player Auction, slated for 1 October, mandates that each franchise includes at least one player from Saudi Arabia in their squad.
This decision not only spotlights the talent within the Kingdom but also integrates Saudi players into a broader international cricketing framework, offering them invaluable exposure and experience.
Khalid Al Zarooni, chairman of ILT20, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, underscoring Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in the Gulf's cricketing landscape. "We are very proud to announce our partnership with the Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation. Saudi Arabia is a key part of the Gulf region, and its commitment to developing cricket is inspiring," Al Zarooni stated.
Echoing this sentiment, HRH Prince Saud Bin Mishal Al-Saud, Chairman of SACF, conveyed the significance of this collaboration for Saudi cricket. He stated, "We are proud to partner with the DP World ILT20. This collaboration reflects our commitment to developing cricket in the country and providing our players with opportunities to grow and succeed on an international stage."
Prince Saud elaborated on how this partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, emphasising sport and community engagement, and its potential to inspire a new generation of cricketers in the Kingdom.
David White, CEO of DP World ILT20, described the partnership as a crucial step towards expanding cricket's footprint across the Gulf. He noted the league's positive impact on young players in the UAE and expressed optimism about replicating this success in Saudi Arabia.
"With Saudi Arabia's dynamic growth in sport and entertainment, this partnership provides a tremendous opportunity for Saudi cricketers to develop," White remarked.
He also revealed plans to host DP World ILT20 matches and a development tournament in Saudi Arabia, aiming to showcase and uplift local talent.
As the DP World ILT20 Season 4 approaches, with its start on 2 December and the final showdown on 4 January 2026, the excitement builds for this expanded league format.
Featuring six teams and a total of 34 matches, this season promises not only to enhance the cricketing landscape in the Gulf but also to foster a deeper connection between Saudi Arabia and the international cricket community.
