Delhi-Born UAE Cricketer Aims For CSK Spot, Prefers Kohli Over Sharma
Aryan Saxena, born in Delhi, embraced the mantra of dreaming big despite challenges. He began his cricket journey playing with friends in his building. His neighbours were the first to notice his talent. At that time, Virat Kohli, also from Delhi, was making significant strides in cricket.
Encouraged by feedback from neighbours, Aryan's parents enrolled him in a cricket academy where he practised with tennis balls. Later, they made the bold decision to move to the UAE. In 2021, Aryan broke into the UAE U-19 cricket team after switching to leather balls.

The young cricketer aims to represent the senior men's UAE team and play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL. MS Dhoni is a major inspiration for Aryan's desire to join CSK. "I have a dream to play in the IPL and other big tournaments across the globe," Aryan shared.
Aryan's journey began when he moved to the UAE in 2014 and joined Dessert Cubs Cricket Club academy. "From 2014 to 2024, it's been a very good journey," he said. Representing UAE U-19 in 2021 was a proud moment for him after much hard work.
Aryan expressed his admiration for MS Dhoni and his desire to play for CSK. "In the IPL I would love to play for Chennai Super Kings because MS Dhoni plays for that team," he said enthusiastically. He hopes to make his debut for UAE's senior men's team soon.
When asked about choosing between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Aryan did not hesitate. He declared Virat Kohli as the better batsman due to his technique and temperament. "Personally I feel Virat Kohli is a better batsman than Rohit Sharma because of the technique," Aryan stated.
Aryan elaborated on why he prefers Kohli over Sharma: "Virat Kohli's mentality towards the game, and the aggression he shows are really good things to see in him." He believes Kohli's physique and fitness set him apart.
"I am from Delhi, India. My journey till UAE U-19 team is a lot to tell I think," Aryan said during an interview with MyKhel.com. He recounted how friends' parents noticed his talent and informed his own parents, leading them to enrol him in an academy before moving to UAE.
"When I moved to UAE in 2014, I found an academy - Dessert Cubs Cricket Club academy," Aryan continued. Training with hard balls there marked a significant step in his cricketing journey. Representing UAE U-19 was a great feeling after years of dedication.
The young cricketer dreams of playing in various T20 leagues worldwide, including UAE's International League T20 backed by Emirates Cricket Board. Several IPL teams like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) already have their presence there.
Aryan Saxena's story is one of determination and passion for cricket. From playing with tennis balls in Delhi to representing UAE U-19, his journey reflects hard work and ambition. He continues to aspire towards greater achievements on international platforms.
