Cricketers Amit Mishra And Mohammed Shami Call Out Media For Spreading False News

Amit Mishra has joined Mohammed Shami in condemning a media outlet for spreading false information about Shami allegedly criticising Mishra over comments on Virat Kohli.

Shami urged the media to verify their sources before publishing any news, while Mishra advised against giving attention to those spreading "fake news".

Shami took to social media to express his disappointment over the misinformation about Mishra. He requested the media outlet to remove the story and issue a correction.

Mishra responded by highlighting that these fake news spreaders delete their content after it goes viral and they get called out.

"Stop following agenda-driven sources like @news24tvchannel. Seriously, @mdshami11, it's their job to spread fake news, make it go viral, and then delete it once people call them out. They crave attention, and we shouldn't give them the satisfaction," Mishra posted on X.

The controversy began when a report claimed Shami criticised Mishra for his comments on Kohli, suggesting Mishra made those remarks for "fame and power".

Mishra's Comments on Kohli

Earlier, Mishra had sparked debate by stating that Kohli had changed significantly over the years due to "fame and power". He mentioned that they had almost stopped talking because of this change.

"I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those," Mishra said during a podcast.

Mishra also reminisced about knowing Kohli since he was 14, noting how different he is now compared to when he was younger.

"I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat samosas, when he needed pizza every night. But there is a huge difference in the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli the captain."

This incident highlights the importance of verifying information before publication and not giving undue attention to false news spreaders.
