Crawley And Van Der Merwe Boost Sunrisers Eastern Cape's Line-Up For SA20 Season 3

England's Zak Crawley has joined Sunrisers Eastern Cape for Betway Season 3. This marks his debut in South Africa's top domestic T20 league.

Crawley has been a standout opener for England in Test cricket, embodying the aggressive 'Bazball' style under coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes.

The 26-year-old has played in Australia's T20 League with Hobart Hurricanes and scored a century for Kent in England's T20 Blast.

"I've always wanted to be a good white-ball player," Crawley said recently. "I'm trying to add a few other shots to my game, but I feel like it's quite suited and I've gone well in T20 cricket in the past when I've had a run at it. I'm trying to add a bit more power to my game, I'm working hard in the nets trying a few different things to hopefully hit more and bigger sixes."

Roelof van der Merwe will rejoin Sunrisers Eastern Cape for Betway SA20 Season 3. Known as 'The Bulldog,' he was pivotal in their first season win, taking 20 wickets with an economy rate of 5.62.

Van der Merwe shone in the inaugural final at Wanderers, claiming 4/31 against Pretoria Capitals and earning Player of the Final honours. His best figures of 6/20 against Durban's Super Giants remain unmatched in Betway SA20 history.
