T20 World Cup 2024's Longest Sixes: Rovman Powell Leads With A Stunning Hit

The T20 World Cup 2024 has presented a challenging environment for batters due to the sluggish surfaces at venues across the USA and the Caribbean. Despite these conditions, several batters have managed to hit the ball out of the park.

Over 450 sixes have been struck in around 50 matches in this year's tournament. Some of these maximums have even travelled outside stadiums or landed on the rooftops of stands.

Top Sixes of T20 World Cup 2024

Among the notable big hits, England skipper Jos Buttler recently hit one of the longest sixes in the T20 World Cup 2024, taking USA's Harmeet Singh to the cleaners with a 104-meter strike.

However, Buttler's effort was just shy of the longest six in the tournament. This record is currently held by West Indies skipper Rovman Powell, who hit a massive 107-meter six during a group stage game.

Nepal's Sompal Kami and Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz also came close to Powell's distance but fell just short of the 107 meters mark.

Apart from these four significant hits, there have been several other sixes around or over the 100-meter mark this year, featuring players like Aaron Jones and Hardik Pandya. Below is a look at the biggest sixes in the tournament so far:

  • Rovman Powell (West Indies) - 107 metres vs Uganda
  • Phil Salt (England) - 106 metres vs Australia
  • Sompal Kami (Nepal) - 105 metres vs South Africa
  • Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan) - 105 metres vs New Zealand
  • Jos Buttler (England) - 104 meters vs USA

  • Azmatullah Omarzai (Afghanistan) - 100 metres vs India
  • Hardik Pandya (India) - 98 meters vs Afghanistan
  • Aasif Sheikh (Nepal) - 98 metres vs South Africa

Powell's impressive hit tops the list for this year's tournament but falls short of the longest sixes in T20 World Cup history. This historical list is led by India's Yuvraj Singh. Here are the top five longest sixes in T20 World Cup history:
