Top Five Best Buys For Royal Challengers Bengaluru In IPL 2025 Auction

The IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) making strategic moves. Despite having a substantial budget of Rs 83 crore, the team opted for a cautious approach in acquiring marquee players.

RCB's auction strategy didn't result in securing big names like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, or KL Rahul. However, they managed to strengthen their squad with some noteworthy signings over the two-day event.

In total, RCB acquired 19 players, bringing their squad size to 22. They spent Rs 119.25 crore out of their Rs 120 crore budget. Key retentions included Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, Rajat Patidar at Rs 11 crore, and Yash Dayal for Rs 5 crore.

Nuwan Thushara from Sri Lanka was picked up for Rs 1.60 crore. Known for his unique bowling action, Thushara had a decent stint with Mumbai Indians last season and is expected to enhance RCB's bowling attack.

Jitesh Sharma, an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, was signed for Rs 11 crore. He replaces Dinesh Karthik and brings stability to the middle order with his finishing abilities.

Liam Livingstone from England was acquired for Rs 8.75 crore. His all-round capabilities with both bat and ball provide RCB with much-needed versatility in their lineup.

Phil Salt emerged as RCB's top signing at Rs 11.50 crore. After an impressive season with KKR in IPL 2024, Salt is expected to be a key player for RCB, partnering with Virat Kohli at the top of the order.
