Badshah, Sonam Bajwa Ignite Delhi Premier League 2024 Opening Night

The Delhi Premier League T20 began with a vibrant opening ceremony at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Music sensation Badshah delivered an energetic performance that captivated the audience.

Bollywood actress Sonam Bajwa added glamour to the event with her stunning presence. The ceremony was attended by top officials from the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), including President Rohan Jaitley, franchise owners, players, and staff from all participating teams.

Rohan Jaitley officially launched the league, emphasizing its importance for Delhi's cricket community. He stated, "The Delhi Premier League marks a monumental step for cricket in the capital, providing a much-needed platform for our local talent to shine."

Delhi's cricket legends Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli were honoured for their contributions to India's recent ICC T20 World Cup victory. Pant, who will lead Purani Dilli 6 in the tournament, received his accolade in person. Kohli was represented by his brother.

The opening match featured Purani Dilli 6 against South Delhi Superstarz. Key players included Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Ayush Badoni, and Lalit Yadav. The league runs from August 17 to September 8, 2024, promising 23 days of thrilling cricket with 40 matches scheduled across men's and women's categories.

All matches will be streamed live on JioCinema and broadcast on Sports18 - 2.
