Pakistan, the 2009 champions, were taken aback by the USA's victory via Super Over. During the match, a fan allegedly called Azam Khan "Mota Hathi," which translates to "fat elephant," after he was dismissed for a golden duck.

Azam Khan has faced significant criticism for his form and fitness, registering three ducks in his last six innings. Fans and former cricketers have been vocal about his performance, with some in the crowd mocking his physical appearance.

Some spectators held signs with captions such as "Azam Khan't Stop Eating." One fan reportedly called him a fat elephant, prompting a reaction from Azam Khan as he returned to the dressing room.

The incident occurred when Azam Khan was trapped in front of the stumps by USA spinner Nosthusha Kenjige for a first-ball duck in the 13th over of Pakistan's innings. On his way back to the pavilion, Azam Khan turned back to glare at the abusive fan.

This was Azam Khan's second consecutive duck. Despite his poor run, Pakistan's management has shown some patience due to his big-hitting ability in T20 cricket. However, their patience may soon be tested.
