Ayush Badoni Eager To Face Ishant Sharma In Upcoming DPL 2024 Season

Ayush Badoni, a prominent player for Lucknow Super Giants, has been selected as the marquee player for South Delhi Superstars in the Delhi Premier League.

Badoni, who has accumulated 977 runs in 62 T20 matches, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming league. He highlighted its potential to offer significant exposure to local cricketers. "The Delhi Premier League will offer great exposure for players. For me, it will be like a mini IPL. Playing matches like these always boosts confidence; it will give me and the Delhi cricketers excellent exposure," he said.

The DPL is scheduled from 17th August to 8th September 2024 at the Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. It will feature six teams: South Delhi Superstars, East Delhi Riders, Central Delhi Kings, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions, and Purani Dilli 6. Notable players such as Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, and Yash Dhull are expected to participate.

Discussing the competitive nature of the league, Badoni remarked on the aggressive style of cricket played by Delhi players. "Delhi players are known for their aggressive cricket. So, the DPL will be very competitive and fun to watch for cricket followers," he stated.

One of Badoni's most anticipated aspects of the league is playing against Ishant Sharma. "What excites me most about the league is playing against Ishant Sharma. We always have this banter that he'll get me out, and I tell him I'll hit him for sixes, so playing against him will be fun," he shared.

Shikhar Dhawan owns the South Delhi Superstars and personally reached out to Badoni after the auction. Badoni mentioned that Dhawan has been in constant communication with him since then.

"He is very confident with the team we have, and the environment is pretty relaxed. We're looking forward to playing and lifting the DPL trophy," Badoni concluded.
