Australia Clinches Super 8 Spot With Decisive Victory Over Namibia In T20 World Cup
Adam Zampa's stellar performance helped Australia secure their spot in the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 with a dominant 9-wicket victory over Namibia at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua & Barbuda on Wednesday, June 12.
Zampa took four wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs, restricting Namibia to a modest total of 72. David Warner (20 off 8 balls), Travis Head (34* off 17 balls), and Mitchell Marsh (18* off 9 balls) then chased down the target with 14.2 overs to spare.

Namibia, after being put into bat, struggled against Zampa and his teammates. Skipper Gerhard Erasmus was the top scorer for Namibia with 36 runs off 43 balls. Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis each claimed two wickets, while Pat Cummins and Nathan Ellis took one wicket each.
With this win, Australia moved to six points from three matches and significantly improved their net run rate. Namibia, with only two points from three matches, were eliminated from the race for the Super 8.
Scotland and England are now expected to compete for the remaining spot from Group B. The defending champions, England, need to win their remaining matches and hope for favourable results from Australia to qualify. Below is the updated Group B points table:
