Australia Secures Win Against Bangladesh In T20 World Cup With Key Performances

Pat Cummins secured the tournament's first hat-trick, while Adam Zampa's spin led Australia to a 28-run victory over Bangladesh via the DLS method in their T20 World Cup Super Eights match.

Zampa (2/24) was precise in the middle overs, and Cummins (3/29) took three wickets in a row at the end, restricting Bangladesh to 140 for eight after Mitchell Marsh chose to bowl first in a rain-affected game.

David Warner (53* off 35 balls) played a brilliant half-century, hitting five fours and three sixes. Warner and Travis Head (31) started aggressively, reaching 60/0 before rain interrupted. After play resumed, Rishad Hossain (2/23 in 3 overs) dismissed Head and Marsh quickly. Despite these setbacks, Warner continued his form, bringing up his fifty with a six. When rain halted play again, Australia were 100 for two in 11.2 overs, 28 runs ahead of the DLS par score of 72.

This is a very good playing XI, we spoke before the start to have the team to take us deep into the tournament and have a team based on the conditions and it's going well. I'm loving it (on captaincy), great team to lead, great group filled with experience, the support staff have been excellent and the families are here as well. Have another game tomorrow and we're looking forward to it."

Najmul Hossain Shanto (BAN): "The wicket was good, bit slow, but we should have made at least 170. Playing against this team, we should gamble, today Rishad came at 4 to tackle the spinners, he's a big-hitter but he couldn't execute that. I'm doing alright so far, enjoying playing here and think I can do a bit more. It's very important for the top-order to get runs like we did today, that's a big boost, hopefully, the bowlers will continue their form. Looking for a good show against India in our next match."
