Ahmed Shehzad Demands Apology From Babar Azam Following T20 Debacle

Pakistan's exit from the T20 World Cup has sparked a significant debate on social media. Babar Azam and his team have faced severe criticism from former players and experts for their disappointing performance.

Pakistan lost to the USA and India, leading to their elimination. Following this, some players chose to stay back in various locations instead of returning home. Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir, and Azam Khan are currently spending holidays in London and other places.

Shehzad Calls for Team Apology

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf was involved in a heated altercation with a fan. Over the past few days, fans have shared the incident online, condemning the behaviour of fans towards players.

Ahmed Shehzad's Criticism

Former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad has launched a strong critique against the Pakistan players. Known for his continuous criticism of Babar Azam and his team during the T20 World Cup, Shehzad has now called for the players to return to Pakistan and apologise to the fans.

"While we fully condemn what happened to Haris Rauf, it is also important that the posts put up by the players in support of Haris should be taken away from the fans due to his poor performance in the World Cup," Ahmed Shehzad wrote on X.

"It should have been as an apology. It would be good if these players would apologise to the nation, if these players would be ashamed and these players would return to Pakistan instead of spending holidays in America, England or Dubai. These posts by the players should not change the narrative and the fans should get answers for the poor performances of the players. Accountability is very important now, the same group of players have not won anything for our country in the last five years and have kept prioritising personal milestones rather than the collective success of Pakistan," he added.

The future direction of Pakistan cricket remains uncertain following their T20 World Cup debacle.
