AB De Villiers Pens Heartfelt Message To RCB After IPL 2024 Elimination

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced a disappointing exit from IPL 2024 after losing to Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator on Wednesday, May 22. Despite a six-match winning streak that secured their playoff spot, RCB's hopes were dashed in the crucial match.

RCB fans had high expectations for a successful season, but their dreams were shattered as they lost the 'Royal Rumble' against Rajasthan Royals. The mood in the RCB camp and among their supporters is understandably sombre.

AB de Villiers, a legendary figure for RCB, expressed pride despite the team's painful exit. De Villiers, who spent most of his IPL career with RCB, remains a dedicated supporter and felt the disappointment keenly.

However, he praised the team's resilience and ability to reignite hope among fans during IPL 2024. The former South African player believes that RCB will come back stronger next season.

"It's always painful to lose. But as a fan, I'm proud of the boys for making us believe, even when all hope seemed lost at the start of May. I'm sure #RCB will come back stronger next year and bring home that elusive title," De Villiers wrote on his X profile.

RCB's Remarkable Comeback

RCB's journey this season was marked by a significant comeback. After losing seven out of their first eight matches, they managed to win their last six games, securing a spot in the playoffs. Virat Kohli was instrumental in this turnaround, scoring over 700 runs this season.

The defeat means Rajasthan Royals will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on Friday at Chepauk. The winner of this match will compete against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Final on Sunday, May 26.
