Tragic Death Of Imran Patel: 35-Year-Old Cricketer Dies From Cardiac Arrest During Match In Pune
During a league match at Garware Stadium in Pune, 35-year-old cricketer Imran Patel tragically passed away from a cardiac arrest. The match, held on Wednesday night between Lucky Builders and Young XI, turned somber when Patel collapsed near the boundary line. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Patel had been playing as an opening batsman for Lucky Builders. He complained of pain in his left arm and chest to the umpires and fellow players after a few overs. As he was returning to the pavilion, he suddenly collapsed. The incident was captured live as the match was being streamed online.

A large crowd gathered for Patel's funeral near Maulana Azad College late on Wednesday. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters, with the youngest being just four months old. His untimely death has left many in shock and mourning.
Naseer Khan, another cricketer, expressed disbelief over Patel's sudden demise. "He didn't have history of any medical condition," Khan stated. "He was in good physical condition. In fact, he was an allrounder who loved the game. We're all still in shock."
Patel's passing is eerily reminiscent of another cricketer, Habib Shaikh, who also died while playing earlier this year in Pune. Unlike Patel, Shaikh had diabetes. Both incidents highlight the unpredictable nature of life.
The date November 27 holds significance in cricket history due to another tragedy a decade ago when Australian batter Phillip Hughes died after being struck by a bouncer during a match. Hughes succumbed to his injuries two days later in the hospital.
On November 25, 2014, Hughes was hit on the neck by a bouncer from Sean Abbott during a Sheffield Shield match at Sydney Cricket Ground. This caused a vertebral artery dissection leading to a subarachnoid haemorrhage, ultimately resulting in his death.
Imran Patel's contributions extended beyond cricket; he owned a team, managed a real-estate business, and ran a juice shop. His multifaceted life and sudden death have left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
The cricket community continues to grapple with these losses while cherishing memories of those who have passed too soon.
