ZHO Joins Forces With Burjeel Medical City To Enhance Healthcare For People Of Determination

In a significant move towards enhancing healthcare accessibility for People of Determination, the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has entered into a strategic partnership with Burjeel Medical City (BMC). This collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to broaden the spectrum of community services available to this group.

The MoU was signed by Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, and Aysha Al Mahri, Deputy CEO of BMC, in a ceremony attended by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings, along with senior leaders from both organisations. This partnership underscores a mutual commitment to providing specialised treatments, rehabilitation services, and early disability detection programmes.

Under the terms of the agreement, BMC will work alongside ZHO to offer an array of services including occupational therapy, speech therapy, and behaviour modification services at the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre. This initiative is under the cooperative oversight of the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Department. Furthermore, the collaboration will extend rehabilitative and therapeutic services at ZHO’s therapy centres and provide a team of rehabilitation doctors, paediatricians, neurologists, and general practitioners to support behaviour modification services.

Another key aspect of this partnership is the support for the ‘Ifhas’ initiative aimed at early detection and prevention of chronic diseases among employees and their families. BMC will also assist in early detection services for disabilities during pre- and post-pregnancy stages. Additionally, ZHO members will benefit from access to Burjeel Darak facilities and the advanced sports rehabilitation hall within BMC to support their participation in the Olympics and various sports tournaments.

Al Humaidan expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with BMC, highlighting it as an extension of ZHO’s ongoing efforts to offer its members a comprehensive range of care and rehabilitation services. He stressed the alignment between both organisations' strategic objectives and their shared vision for social responsibility towards achieving sustainable social development.

John Sunil, CEO of Burjeel Holdings, echoed these sentiments by stating their pride in partnering with ZHO to advance healthcare services for people of determination. He emphasised the commitment to providing comprehensive care that ensures community members have access to necessary support and services.

This collaboration between ZHO and BMC represents a significant step forward in improving healthcare access and support for People of Determination. It showcases a shared commitment towards fostering a healthy society through strategic partnerships and comprehensive care initiatives.
