Zayed Higher Organisation Establishes Comprehensive Centre For Injured Palestinians' Care And Rehabilitation

The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has launched a new centre dedicated to assessing, supporting, and rehabilitating injured Palestinians. This initiative aligns with the UAE's commitment to aiding Palestinians during difficult times. The centre was established in collaboration with Emirates Humanitarian City at its headquarters.

As part of the UAE's extensive efforts, this centre aims to support People of Determination and injured Palestinians brought to the UAE for treatment. This initiative is in line with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's plan to treat 1,000 injured Palestinians and 1,000 cancer patients, enhancing their quality of life and societal participation.

Zayed Higher Organisation has set up a specialised facility within Emirates Humanitarian City for comprehensive care. It includes rooms for medical and psychological evaluations, therapy rooms offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and auditory rehabilitation. Educational rooms are also available to create a conducive learning environment tailored to People of Determination.

The facility is equipped with administrative offices to streamline service management and ensure efficient continuity. Technical support offices provide ongoing assistance for all devices and equipment used in delivering these services. This setup ensures that the needs of People of Determination are met effectively.

In terms of care provided by Zayed Higher Organisation specialists, they have assessed 123 cases of People of Determination residing in Emirates Humanitarian City. They continue to deliver around 80 diverse therapy sessions weekly. Additionally, they have addressed the supportive needs of approximately 66 cases of physical disabilities and provided 11 hearing aids to individuals with hearing impairments.

The organisation also coordinated with Ibn Sina School for Deaf Education to establish an auditory rehabilitation class for students with hearing impairments. This effort facilitates their integration into the Emirati school system. Furthermore, individuals with visual impairments received training in Braille to ease their inclusion in Emirati schools.

Prosthetic Support and Integration

In collaboration with Emirates Humanitarian City, Zayed Higher Organisation has provided care, rehabilitation, evaluations, and diverse therapy sessions. They have fitted prosthetic limbs and offered physical therapy while training recipients in using prosthetics suitable for all age groups. This support includes moral encouragement and necessary rehabilitation to help individuals adapt to daily prosthetic use.

Additionally, they have supplied wheelchairs, braces, and hearing aids to People of Determination and injured Palestinians. These efforts aim to empower their integration into society and facilitate their daily lives.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in providing distinguished services in care, rehabilitation, psychological support, and social assistance for injured Palestinians. It is part of a series of humanitarian efforts benefiting those affected by war in Gaza.
