Yas Island And Saadiyat Island See Significant Increase In Summer Visitors And Hotel Occupancy

Yas Island and Saadiyat Island have experienced a notable rise in visitor numbers during the summer, reinforcing their status as top destinations for families and tourists globally. Yas Island, renowned for leisure and entertainment in the UAE, saw a 72% increase in visitors from GCC countries to its theme parks, with Indian visitors rising by 24%. Hotels on Yas Island achieved an 83% occupancy rate over the summer, with international guests increasing by 29%, and a peak occupancy of 90% in August 2024.

Saadiyat Island, known for its beaches, resorts, and cultural attractions, also attracted global visitors. It recorded an occupancy rate exceeding 65% during the summer and reached 73% in August 2024. Compared to 2023, Saadiyat Island's hotel occupancy increased by 13%, with a 19% rise in international guest arrivals. These figures highlight the island's growing appeal as a premier destination.

Surge in Visitors to Yas and Saadiyat Islands

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed satisfaction with the islands' performance: "We are thrilled with the success Yas Island and Saadiyat Island have achieved this summer. Yas Island hosted various major events over the summer, solidifying its reputation as a premier entertainment hub. Yas Theme Parks offered family-friendly festivities with special events and interactive experiences. Meanwhile, Yas Bay Waterfront featured events like fireworks displays and upscale dining options. The island's largest mall, Yas Mall, provided entertainment through shopping promotions, extended hours, and activities tailored for families.

The actor Ryan Reynolds has been appointed as Yas Island’s third Chief Island Officer (CIO), enhancing its global appeal through his celebrity influence. Additionally, Yas Island collaborated again with Miami Band from Kuwait to release a summer version of their song AACHAW. This track gained popularity across the GCC region, attracting more visitors.
