UAE Residents Can Soon Enjoy Voice, Texting And Data Satellite Connectivity On Smartphones
UAE's Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with e& UAE. This partnership marks e& UAE as the pioneering telecom operator to collaborate under Yahsat's Direct-to-Device (D2D) strategy, setting the stage for transformative satellite connectivity solutions.
The alliance between Yahsat and e& UAE is poised to explore a variety of initiatives geared towards the development of Yahsat's forthcoming D2D ecosystem. This ecosystem aims to facilitate voice, texting, and data satellite connectivity directly to standard smartphones, heralding a new era in communication technology.
Ali Al Hashemi, Group CEO of Yahsat, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are delighted to announce our MoU with e& UAE, a leading global telecom operator, as the first of many agreements we hope to reach with key industry players under our D2D strategy. We are discussing many areas where we aim to collaborate, such as developing the ecosystem of our recently launched D2D strategy, Project SKY."
