Xposure 2025 Photography Festival Launches Tomorrow In Sharjah With Global Talent And Workshops

The Xposure International Photography Festival, organised by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, is set to begin tomorrow at Aljada. This event will transform the venue into a global centre for photography and filmmaking. The festival will feature over 300 renowned photographers and filmmakers, showcasing more than 100 exhibitions with over 2,500 images. Additionally, there will be 50 workshops and numerous talks.

Running from February 20 to 26, the festival's theme is 'Nothing is Bigger Than the Picture,' highlighting photography's role in cultural storytelling. The expansive 49,000-square-metre venue will host diverse exhibitions, panel discussions, and interactive experiences. Notable photographers like Sir Don McCullin and Greg Gorman will present works spanning genres such as Documentary and Fine Art.

Xposure 2025 offers workshops designed to improve both aspiring and professional photographers' skills. Highlights include a Drone Photography Masterclass focusing on aerial imaging techniques. Other sessions cover Photojournalism, Fashion Photography, and Advanced Image Editing using modern software. These workshops provide expert guidance on refining photographic skills.

For the first time, the Xposure Tour Bus will offer guided tours across Sharjah led by professionals. This initiative allows participants to capture the city's landscapes and landmarks hands-on. Emerging photographers can also benefit from portfolio review sessions with industry experts to gain valuable insights.

A key highlight of Xposure 2025 is its Conservation Summit on February 24, themed ‘Migration and Ecosystem Impact.’ The summit will discuss migration's effects on ecosystems with speakers like HE Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Shamsi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment. Through discussions and imagery, it aims to raise awareness about environmental challenges.

The festival also includes documentary screenings addressing environmental issues, showcasing photography's dual role as a documentary tool and an artistic medium that inspires action. These films aim to increase global awareness of pressing humanitarian concerns through visual storytelling.

Xposure 2025 is supported by Official Partner Arada Developments LLC along with Strategic Partners such as Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority. Sponsors include the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and Shurooq. Cultural partners involve the House of Wisdom and The UAE Board on Books for Young People.
