World Future Energy Summit 2025 Highlights Middle East's Leadership In Sustainable Urban Development
The UAE is leading the charge in sustainable urban development with projects like Masdar City and Zayed International Airport. These initiatives focus on clean technologies and smart infrastructure to boost efficiency. Saudi Arabia is also making strides with its giga projects, which are transforming urban landscapes through eco-friendly innovations.
Abu Dhabi is a standout in the region, recognised for its Estidama Pearl Rating system and innovative building designs. This aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030. The city ranks among the Top 10 Smart Cities in the 2024 Smart City Index, being the only Middle Eastern city on this list.

According to Frost & Sullivan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia plan to invest US$50 billion in smart city projects by 2025.
