Wisdom Of Culture Theme Announced For 23rd Abu Dhabi Festival Celebrating Global Ties

The Abu Dhabi Festival, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, is set to return for its 23rd edition. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF), this edition will embrace the theme "The Wisdom of Culture," highlighting culture as a unifying force through creativity and innovation.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed praised the festival's role since 2004 in promoting cultural diplomacy and enhancing the UAE's position as a global hub for knowledge and cultural dialogue. He stated, "The theme of the Festival’s 23rd edition is ‘The Wisdom of Culture,’ embodying the United Arab Emirates’ vision for arts and culture as a transformative catalyst nurturing understanding, coexistence, peace and harmony, while fostering sustainable development and prosperity across societies."

The 2026 festival will celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with its Country of Honour, the United States. This coincides with the U.S.'s 250th independence anniversary, reflecting shared values of peace and fraternity. The festival will feature world-class classical music performances and international collaborations to be announced soon.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the festival's ongoing legacy in merging heritage with modernity through collaborations with leading cultural institutions. He remarked on its success in elevating Emirati creativity globally by stating, "For more than two decades, the Abu Dhabi Festival has reflected the UAE’s unwavering dedication to uniting heritage and modernity, tradition and innovation."

The theme 'The Wisdom of Culture' underscores culture's ability to unite people across borders through dialogue between identities and traditions. It emphasises culture as a universal language that inspires creation and strengthens international bonds.

As part of its commitment to cultural exchange, ADMAF continues to support Abu Dhabi’s cultural vision under Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan's patronage. The foundation remains dedicated to investing in youth, supporting artists, and inspiring audiences while marking 30 years of service.

The festival aims to reflect a collective vision for artistic innovation through cross-cultural initiatives. It seeks to advance creativity and mutual understanding between nations via arts collaboration.

H.H.
