WGS And TIME Celebrate AI Innovators At Dubai's Museum Of The Future During 2025 Summit
The World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025, in collaboration with TIME, hosted the "TIME100 AI Impact Awards" at Dubai's Museum of the Future. This event celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to artificial intelligence, influencing industries and shaping global dynamics. The awards acknowledged four leaders for their AI advancements on the eve of WGS 2025.
Among those honoured were Arvind Krishna, Chairman, President, and CEO of IBM; Grimes, a Producer, Musician, Self-Replicating Artist and CEO of Media Empire; Refik Anadol, a Media Artist and Co-Founder of Refik Anadol Studio and Dataland; and Anima Anandkumar, a Professor at the California Institute of Technology.

Mohamed Al Sharhan, Managing Director of WGS, remarked that AI is no longer just a futuristic idea but a transformative force in our lives. He stated: "AI is no longer a futuristic concept; it is a force reshaping the way we live, work, and govern." Al Sharhan emphasised WGS's dedication to fostering discussions that turn innovation into tangible impacts.
Al Sharhan also highlighted that partnering with TIME aligns with WGS's mission to build global partnerships in technology. He noted the importance of enhancing discussions at the crossroads of technology, governance, and progress. This collaboration aims to strengthen meaningful dialogues worldwide.
Jessica Sibley, TIME's Chief Executive Officer, expressed pride in recognising those leading technological advancements. She stated: "As AI continues to reshape our world, TIME is proud to spotlight the individuals at the forefront of this technological advancement." This recognition underscores TIME's commitment to highlighting influential figures in AI.
The upcoming 12th edition of WGS promises to be its most extensive yet. It will feature participation from over 30 heads of state and government officials. Additionally, more than 80 international organisations and 140 government delegations are expected to attend.
Engaging Global Participation
The summit anticipates over 6,000 participants engaging in discussions across six main themes and 21 global forums. These sessions will explore major international trends through more than 200 interactive discussions. The aim is to address key transformations affecting the world today.
Furthermore, WGS will host over 30 ministerial meetings involving more than 400 ministers. These gatherings will provide opportunities for high-level dialogue on pressing global issues. The summit seeks to foster collaboration among leaders worldwide.
This year's World Governments Summit aims to drive impactful conversations on innovation and governance. By bringing together diverse voices from around the globe, it strives to shape future policies and strategies in an ever-evolving world.
