Wgeo Unveils Comprehensive Agenda For COP29 With Focus On Green Economy Initiatives

The World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO) has outlined its agenda for the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29), scheduled from 11th to 22nd November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. WGEO will have a pavilion in the Blue Zone, Number C 12, dedicated to high-level climate discussions and partnership-driven dialogues.

WGEO plans to engage over 150 global stakeholders through more than 45 themed sessions and workshops. These events will focus on enhancing ambition, enabling action, and delivering inclusive climate solutions, aligning with COP29's main themes. Specific thematic days will address key issues crucial for transitioning to a green economy.

Wgeo Reveals Agenda for COP29 Participation

WGEO has designated thematic days to explore critical topics such as Global Leadership for a Green Economy Transition and Collaborative Climate Action for a Sustainable World. Other themes include Sustainable Finance for Green Growth, Clean Energy and Resilient Recovery, and Innovation for a Green Economy.

Additionally, WGEO will host sessions with member organisations, knowledge partners, and governmental entities. This collaboration aims to create sustainable solutions through interactive discussions and bilateral meetings with heads of state, ministers, and global organisations.

A high-level ministerial panel will explore the role of green transitions in effective climate action. Ministers and leading experts worldwide will participate in these discussions. The Global Alliance on Green Economy (GAGE) will also hold its Second Quarterly Focal Points’ Meeting focusing on climate projects and international cooperation.

Capacity-building training on Article 6 is part of WGEO's agenda. This training aims to empower participants to contribute effectively to their countries' climate commitments. It highlights WGEO’s commitment to building a knowledgeable climate workforce.
