Uzbekistan President And UAE Minister Discuss Strengthening Economic And Energy Ties
In a significant diplomatic engagement, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, welcomed Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, along with his high-level delegation, marking a pivotal visit aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations. The meeting, which also saw the presence of Dr. Saeed Matar Al Qemzi, UAE Ambassador to Uzbekistan, served as a platform to discuss the enhancement of cooperation across various sectors, notably in renewable energy, transport, and logistics.
The visit underscores the UAE's strategic interest in strengthening ties with Uzbekistan, with Al Mazrouei conveying the warm greetings and well-wishes of the UAE leadership towards the progress and prosperity of Uzbekistan's leadership and its people. Notable interactions were held with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry; Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Minister of Energy; Ilham Makhkamov, Minister of Transport; and Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan. These meetings highlighted the broad scope of interests shared between the two countries and set the stage for future collaborative projects.
Emphasizing the UAE's dedication to fostering strong bilateral relations, Al Mazrouei highlighted the country's focus on energy, renewable energy projects, infrastructure, and transport sectors. He also pointed out the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA)'s keen interest in investing in Uzbekistan's burgeoning renewable energy sector.
The UAE delegation comprised senior officials from various government agencies and the private sector. This included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Ministry of Economy, AD Ports Group, Etihad Rail, Mubadala, EDGE, Abu Dhabi Sustainable Water Solutions Company, and Masdar.
