Uzbekistan, UAE Forge Partnership To Advance Falcon AI Integration

The United Arab Emirates' Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), a key player in shaping an advanced research and development ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, has recently entered into a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This collaboration is set to harness ATRC's technical prowess and its subsidiaries to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) throughout Uzbekistan's technological framework and government operations.

Under this Memorandum of Understanding, Uzbekistan commits to exploring and promoting the use of Falcon Large Language Models (LLMs) and Falcon-powered solutions. This initiative will support the incorporation of Falcon within its digital ecosystem for various applications. Additionally, Uzbekistan aims to motivate organizations to participate in the 'Falcon Foundation', contributing to the development of open-source Falcon models. This partnership signifies a crucial step in extending Falcon's influence beyond the Middle East, establishing a foundation for international cooperative efforts that will shape the future of tech innovation.

Uzbekistan-UAE Boost Falcon AI Adoption

Shahab Issa Abu Shahab, Director-General of ATRC, expressed his enthusiasm about the agreement, highlighting ATRC's commitment to global AI partnerships. "Collaborating closely with the government of Uzbekistan, we anticipate facilitating the broader implementation of Falcon's innovative solutions across various organizations within the country," he stated. Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, also shared his optimism, noting the partnership's role in accelerating innovation and overcoming digital challenges to unlock their full potential.

The Falcon LLM is a leading-edge open-source AI model developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ATRC’s applied research division. In November 2023, ATRC, together with its commercial arm VentureOne, launched AI71, a pioneering AI company. AI71 is dedicated to providing specialized AI models for clients, including nations and corporations, while offering decentralized data ownership options. Both TII and AI71 are instrumental in deploying the Falcon series of LLMs, marking significant advancements in AI technology.

This partnership between ATRC and the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan not only underscores the growing importance of AI in global technological infrastructure but also highlights the potential for international collaborations to drive innovation and overcome digital barriers. As these initiatives move forward, they promise to catalyze significant advancements in AI applications across various sectors.
