112 US Companies Choose Dubai Integrated Economic Zones For Regional Operations
Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Executive Chairman of Investments and Partnerships at the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), stated that numerous US companies have selected DIEZ's economic zones for their regional operations. These zones include Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai Silicon Oasis, and Dubai CommerCity. Currently, over 112 US firms are registered, making up about 3.4% of all companies within DIEZ.
Al Matrooshi shared this information during the Dubai Business Forum – USA in New York. He mentioned that US companies in these zones span various sectors such as aviation, logistics, specialised consulting, technology, and future industries. Notable global names like BOEING, FEDEX, ABBOTT, DHL, and Coca Cola are among them.

DIEZ is committed to creating new economic opportunities and simplifying business establishment processes. This focus aims to strengthen readiness for future challenges and adapt to rapid sectoral changes. Al Matrooshi emphasised the importance of integration among DIEZ’s economic zones in supporting the national economy and enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness.
The authority regularly introduces initiatives offering economic incentives to companies within its zones. These initiatives benefit US companies significantly as part of the free zone’s ecosystem. Al Matrooshi highlighted DIEZ's dedication to forming high-value partnerships that support the business community and entrepreneurs.
Despite global economic uncertainties, the UAE and Dubai continue attracting foreign investment across strategic sectors. This success reflects the emirate’s robust economic foundations. Al Matrooshi noted that DIEZ's zones are crucial contributors to Dubai’s non-oil economy.
According to estimates by the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, economic and free zones contributed approximately 67% of Dubai’s total foreign direct investment in 2023, equating to AED298 billion. This highlights these zones' role as a pillar of sustainable growth and competitiveness.
Enhancing Service Quality
Regarding plans for incentives or agreements to facilitate US company entry into the UAE market, Al Matrooshi confirmed DIEZ's ongoing efforts to improve service quality for businesses and investors. The strategy aims to elevate performance and efficiency within its zones.
DIEZ remains open to parties interested in agreements that enhance its integrated system. The authority is focused on building a system serving all strategic sectors while boosting Dubai’s competitiveness on a global scale.
DIEZ continues to play an essential role in supporting the national economy through its integrated approach across various sectors. This commitment ensures ease of business operations while keeping pace with rapid transformations worldwide.
