Urban Future Week At Museum Of The Future: Innovating Urban Governance And Sustainability
The Museum of the Future, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, launched Urban Future Week. This event gathers global leaders and experts to discuss how innovation is reshaping urban governance and enhancing city sustainability amid digital and climate changes. Held from 10th to 11th November, it underscores Dubai's role as a leader in smart urban planning.
Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, delivered the keynote address. She highlighted the UAE's vision for a sustainable urban model driven by innovation and technology. Her speech emphasised that prosperity can coexist with environmental preservation through human-centred development.

Marwan Ahmed Bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, stated that the event offers a platform to enhance urban governance. It aims to integrate government entities, transforming challenges into opportunities for Dubai's future city vision. He noted that under Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's guidance, Dubai is evolving from smart to predictive cities.
Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, stressed the importance of knowledge exchange in building resilient cities. "Through collaboration, we can design integrated, human-centred urban models that help cities adapt and thrive," he said. The event highlights foresight as crucial for addressing future transformations.
The first day focused on Urban Systems, Governance and Innovation. Discussions centred on institutional resilience and decision intelligence enhancement. Experts shared case studies from Dubai on sustainability innovations and urban technology integration using AI, open data, and predictive analytics.
The second day will explore Digital Cities and the Future of Communities. It will focus on digital systems and innovative design to create inclusive urban environments through public-private partnerships. This theme aims to foster resilient communities ready for future challenges.

Notable participants included Matar AlHemeiri from Digital Dubai Government Establishment; Major General Khalid Al Razooqi of Dubai Police; Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi from TECOM Group PJSC; Yasser Ahmed from Schneider Electric Gulf Countries; and Ahmed Bukhash of Archidentity.
Urban Future Week serves as a global platform for policymakers and innovators to develop intelligent city models. The event will conclude with an impact report providing recommendations for sustainable urban policies aligned with Dubai’s vision and UAE’s national priorities.
