University Of Sharjah Showcases Educational Technology Innovations At BETT 2025 In The UK
The University of Sharjah (UoS) made a notable impact at the British Educational Training and Technology Conference and Exhibition (BETT 2025) in London from 20 to 24 January. As part of the official Sharjah delegation, organised by the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SEPA), UoS was joined by representatives from Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid universities.
At the event, UoS showcased its latest electronic services and outlined its strategic plan for 2024–2030, focusing on educational technology and digital transformation. This participation highlights the University's dedication to adopting advanced technological innovations to improve education quality and strengthen student-faculty engagement.

Prof. Abbes Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, led the University delegation alongside Prof. Shareefa Al Marzooqi, Director of the Media Centre. Prof. Amira stressed the significance of participating in exhibitions like BETT that concentrate on education and technology. He described it as crucial for supporting the University's EDGE strategy, which emphasises digital transformation, innovation, and academic excellence.
The University’s involvement also provided opportunities to explore advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the metaverse. This fosters educational innovation and introduces new solutions while enhancing collaboration with global institutions. Such engagements further solidify UoS's reputation as a hub for innovation and excellence.
The delegation examined cutting-edge educational technology practices presented by major companies like Microsoft, Meta, and Google. These interactions are vital for understanding how these technologies can be integrated into modern teaching methods to align with global trends.
Prof. Shareefa Al Marzooqi highlighted that participating in this year’s exhibition reflects UoS's efforts to modernise teaching methods using AI. She noted that this approach makes education more effective in delivering academic content while achieving outcomes that enhance students’ skills and capabilities.
