UOS And Luxembourg University Strengthen Academic And Research Collaboration Through Joint Initiatives

The University of Sharjah (UOS) recently hosted a delegation from the University of Luxembourg. The visit, led by Prof. Katalin Ligeti, Dean of the Faculty of Law, aimed to strengthen academic and research ties. Prof. Esameldin Ibrahim Agamy, Chancellor of UOS, welcomed the delegation to discuss expanding their existing Memorandum of Cooperation.

The collaboration between UOS's College of Law and Luxembourg's Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance focuses on joint student and faculty exchanges. It also includes collaborative research projects and shared academic activities. This partnership aims to deepen academic connections in various fields.

UOS and Luxembourg University Strengthen Ties

Prof. Agamy highlighted opportunities for student exchanges across diverse graduate programs. These include public and private law, European law, space law, media and law, as well as banking and financial law. Such exchanges are expected to enhance cooperation in law and business administration.

The Luxembourg delegation expressed strong support for activating the agreement through academic visits and guest lectures. They also discussed joint intensive courses and research stays at both universities. Administrative staff exchanges were considered to share expertise in academic practices.

The meeting included notable figures from UOS such as Prof. Yousef Haik, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Prof. Adnan Sarhan, Dean of the College of Law; Prof. Ahmed Qasim Farah, Deputy Dean; and Dr. Rasha Hattab, Director of the Francophonie Center.

The Luxembourg delegation featured Prof. Élise Poillot, Director of the Master’s Program in European Commercial Law, and Prof. Isabelle Riasto, Director of the Master’s Program in Investment Fund Law.

This visit marks a significant step towards enhancing educational collaboration between these institutions. By focusing on joint initiatives and exchanges, both universities aim to foster a rich academic environment that benefits students and faculty alike.
