Umex 2026 And Simtex 2026 Inaugurated By H.H. Sheikh Hamdan In Abu Dhabi

UMEX 2026 and SimTEX 2026 have opened at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, bringing together more than 375 local and international companies from 38 countries until 22nd January, with a focus on unmanned systems, simulation and training technologies serving civilian, commercial and defence markets.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stated that using advanced technological solutions in key sectors is a strategic path for future-readiness, supporting high-precision industries and strengthening the resilience of the national economic ecosystem while backing long-term sustainable development plans.

UMEX 2026 and SimTEX 2026 are organised by ADNEC Group in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement, with support from the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council and EDGE Group as strategic partner, in collaboration with Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility).

The two exhibitions highlight innovative solutions in unmanned systems, simulation and training, artificial intelligence and related technologies that serve multiple civilian and commercial uses, alongside defence and security needs, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s role as a platform for dialogue on advanced industrial capabilities.

Across indoor and outdoor areas, UMEX 2026 and SimTEX 2026 present live demonstrations of air, land and sea unmanned systems, with interactive zones for visitors to experience smart control platforms, simulation tools and AI-powered applications designed for complex operational environments and training programmes.

The exhibitions also dedicate specific spaces to start-ups, giving early-stage companies opportunities to display products, meet investors and engage with global industry stakeholders on issues such as AI governance, cybersecurity, data protection and the responsible introduction of new autonomous technologies into both civilian and defence ecosystems.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan formally inaugurated the seventh editions in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Mohamed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei and Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, underscoring high-level institutional backing for the event.

During a tour of national and international pavilions, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed reviewed robotics systems, unmanned aerial platforms and smart control solutions, along with advanced simulation technologies and artificial intelligence tools that aim to improve readiness and performance across diverse operational scenarios.

More than 375 participating companies are joined by experts, decision-makers and industry leaders from 38 countries, exchanging experience across sectors such as smart agriculture, healthcare, logistics, smart cities, sustainable energy and infrastructure, alongside military uses including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, tactical support, unmanned vehicles and advanced logistics systems.
