University Of Sharjah To Support Al Dhaid University's Academic And Administrative Affairs

The University of Sharjah (UoS) has entered into a cooperation agreement with the University of Al Dhaid. This agreement involves registering and admitting 473 students currently enrolled at Al Dhaid University, providing comprehensive support and facilities, granting academic degrees, and coordinating faculty and administrative affairs.

The agreement also includes collaboration in information technology and library resources. Both universities will ensure optimal use of equipment, facilities, and scientific laboratories. Additionally, logistical support related to academic programmes and courses will be provided.

Sharjah Uni Backs Al Dhaid Uni

Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of UoS, signed the agreement alongside Dr. Aisha Abu Shlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid. The signing ceremony saw attendance from several vice-chancellors, department heads, and administrative members from both institutions.

Al Naimiy confirmed UoS's commitment to supporting Al Dhaid University. He noted that Al Dhaid offers new academic programmes tailored to meet the community's evolving needs.

Dr. Abu Shlaibi expressed pride in Al Dhaid University's continued journey under UoS's umbrella. She highlighted that Al Dhaid offers various new programmes across its colleges, focusing on agriculture, environment, food, and animal resources.

This initiative aligns with Decree-Law No. (1) of 2024 concerning the organisation of Al Dhaid University under Article (14). It mandates UoS to take all necessary academic, administrative, and financial measures for Al Dhaid University's full operation during a transitional period not exceeding three years.

Transitional Period Details

The transitional period begins at the start of the fall semester for the academic year 2024/2025 and concludes at the end of the summer semester for 2026/2027.

This cooperation aims to ensure that students receive uninterrupted education while benefiting from enhanced resources and support systems provided by UoS.
