UAEBBY Partners With Menassah To Spread Etisalat Award-Winning Books

In a significant move aimed at enhancing the accessibility of award-winning Arabic children’s literature, the UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) has joined forces with Menassah Distribution Company. This collaboration, formalized through an agreement of understanding, was announced during the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, which is set to continue its activities until 12th May at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

The partnership grants Menassah Distribution Company exclusive access to the prestigious list of winners of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature. This award, organized by UAEBBY and sponsored by e&, has been celebrating outstanding contributions to Arabic children’s literature since 2009. The agreement outlines a strategic plan for Menassah to engage with publishers of these celebrated works to discuss distribution opportunities. This initiative aims to make these books more available in various outlets such as libraries, stores, and during events and exhibitions that Menassah organizes or participates in.

Marwa Al Aqroubi, President of UAEBBY, expressed enthusiasm about the agreement, highlighting its potential to significantly increase the global reach of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature. Al Aqroubi emphasized that this initiative not only promotes reading among young people by making high-quality books more accessible but also supports authors, illustrators, and publishers by introducing their works to new audiences and markets.

Rashid Al Kous, General Manager of Menassah Distribution Company, reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting Emirati publishers and Arabic content. By facilitating easier access to award-winning publications at various distribution points and platforms, Menassah aims to attract more readers and enhance the visibility of these distinguished books. Al Kous noted that collaborating with publishers recognized by the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature is a strategic move towards achieving a wider dissemination of high-quality Arabic literature for children and adolescents.
