UAE Launches Youth Social Mission To Support Humanitarian Efforts In Gaza

The Federal Youth Authority has initiated the ‘Youth Social Missions Programme’ under the ‘Humanity Track’. This programme involves Emirati youth in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 in Al Arish, Egypt, as part of the UAE's support for Palestinians. The launch coincided with World Humanitarian Day and was attended by Dr. Sultan Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, who praised the participants' enthusiasm and commitment.

Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Director of Empowerment at the Federal Youth Authority, highlighted that this initiative is a step towards building a comprehensive framework to empower youth in humanitarian, development, and cultural fields. He stated that it equips them with practical skills and field experiences to make meaningful contributions globally. This programme aims to enhance their capabilities across various sectors.

Al Neyadi expressed that humanitarian work should be ingrained in younger generations. "The UAE believes humanitarian work must be instilled in younger generations, embodied by the leadership’s vision of empowering youth to be ambassadors of giving and global peace," he said. The programme prepares Emirati youth to represent national values and provide sustainable support worldwide.

Emirati youth participating in Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 are seen as exemplars of humanitarian responsibility. Their involvement showcases their readiness to aid Palestinians by delivering essential supplies and embodying UAE's values of solidarity. Al Neyadi noted their spirit of initiative and responsibility reflects true belonging to their homeland.

The tasks assigned to these young participants include preparing relief shipments and distributing food, medical supplies, and water. They also assist logistics teams and monitor the UAE Lifeline pipeline supplying water to approximately 600,000 Palestinians in Gaza. This hands-on experience allows them to understand humanitarian challenges directly.

Their field missions extend to providing psychosocial support and coordinating with official entities involved in Gaza's humanitarian operations. This initiative not only develops their skills but also broadens their awareness of global issues and growing humanitarian needs. It opens opportunities for participation in international initiatives supporting Sustainable Development Goals.

Empowering Youth for Global Impact

The Youth Social Missions Programme is a key national initiative under the 'Society and Values' pillar of the National Youth Agenda 2031. It aims to prepare Emirati youth for roles in humanitarian, development, and cultural missions, thereby enhancing UAE’s global presence. This programme trains a new generation of ambassadors committed to humanitarian work.

This effort marks a significant milestone in empowering Emirati youth for international relief work. Their participation signifies a commitment to alleviating suffering in crisis areas while reinforcing UAE's role as a leader in humanitarian action on a global scale.
