UAE And USA Collaborate To Accelerate Patent Grant Procedures Through Joint Statement

The United Arab Emirates and the United States have agreed to start a joint programme to speed up patent approvals in the UAE. This agreement was made during the 66th Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in Geneva. The Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) signed this joint statement.

The collaboration aims to enhance the UAE's intellectual property ecosystem by adopting global best practices. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, stated that this initiative focuses on industrial property rights. It aims to develop patent registration procedures that align with innovators' aspirations, offering flexible services that support an innovation-driven environment.

This partnership is part of broader efforts by the Ministry to improve the industrial property system.
