UAE Conducts Urgent Medical Evacuation For 57 Patients From Gaza Amid Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis
The United Arab Emirates has conducted an urgent medical evacuation for 57 patients from Gaza, accompanied by their families. This brings the total number of evacuees under 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3' since October 2023 to 2,961. The UAE has provided medical treatment, reinforcing its global humanitarian role in easing civilian suffering and promoting security and stability during critical times.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE's International Aid Agency, emphasised the nation's commitment to aiding those affected by crises. He highlighted the UAE's rapid humanitarian response through patient transport operations from Gaza, coordinated with international organisations. "The UAE continues its rapid humanitarian response through a series of patient transport operations from Gaza," he stated.
The evacuation was executed via Ramon Airport in Israel and the Karam Abu Salem crossing. This operation marks the 29th medical evacuation by the UAE International Aid Agency, following directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The mission aims to treat 1,000 wounded Palestinians and 1,000 cancer patients in hospitals across the UAE.
UAE relief efforts are ongoing, with local entities working under the International Aid Agency's supervision. They deliver healthcare, medicines, and essential supplies to patients at the UAE's floating hospital off Arish, Egypt. Additionally, a field hospital in southern Gaza provides comprehensive services to alleviate severe conditions affecting society's vulnerable segments.
The UAE remains dedicated to ensuring early recovery and easing suffering amid crises and conflicts. These efforts are particularly crucial given the catastrophic humanitarian situation facing Palestinians. The UAE's initiatives aim to support global stability while addressing immediate needs in affected regions.
The UAE's floating hospital and field hospital continue to offer vital medical services to patients and injured individuals. These facilities strive to mitigate severe humanitarian conditions impacting children, women, and the elderly in Gaza. The ongoing support underscores the UAE's commitment to global humanitarian aid.
