UAE Tour 2026: Women And Men Details Announced By Abu Dhabi Sports Council

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, working with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), will stage the UAE Tour Women and UAE Tour Men in February 2026, confirming AD Ports Group as main sponsor of both events through 2028 and securing upgraded UCI ranking points that place the races among leading global stage competitions.

The announcement came at a press conference held at Zayed National Museum on Saadiyat Island, attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Aref Hamad Al Awani, Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi and Matar Suhail Al Yabhouni, underlining Abu Dhabi’s long-term plans for elite professional road cycling.

UAE Tour 2026 Details Announced

The UAE Tour Women, on the UCI Women’s WorldTour calendar, will run from 5th to 8th February 2026 across four stages totalling 533km, visiting Al Dhafra, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, while 20 international teams are expected to contest the event under the revised UCI points structure.

The UAE Tour Men, part of the UCI WorldTour, is scheduled from 16th to 22nd February 2026 and will cover seven stages over 1,004.2km, crossing several emirates including Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, with 21 professional teams set to compete for overall and secondary classifications.

Under the enhanced UCI classification starting with the 2026 editions, winners of the general classification at both UAE Tour Women and UAE Tour Men will receive 500 UCI points, a level that aligns the races with other major multi-stage events and is expected to influence team selection and season planning.

AD Ports Group will sponsor the red leader’s jersey at both UAE Tour races, while Mubadala will support the green points jersey, Aldar will back the black jersey for intermediate sprints, and Burjeel Holdings will sponsor the white jersey awarded to the best young rider under 23 years of age.

Aref Hamad Al Awani said the sustained backing of the UAE leadership has supported the country’s status as a hub for major sports events, noting that cooperation with the UCI signals international trust in the UAE’s hosting capabilities and stressing that the AD Ports Group partnership should help raise the UAE Tour’s profile further.

Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi stated that AD Ports Group’s sponsorship shows belief in sport as a contributor to social impact and community engagement, adding that the UAE Tour offers an international platform that presents the country’s cultural identity and values, while organisers indicated that detailed team and rider lists for both races will be confirmed closer to 2026.
