UAE's Tech Economy Shines At GITEX EUROPE In Berlin With Major Innovations And Investments

The inaugural GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything event took place at Messe Berlin, spotlighting the UAE's innovation. The three-day gathering featured over 1,400 exhibitors, 600 global investors, and more than 500 speakers from over 100 countries. This marked a significant cross-border tech mobilisation in Europe. National pavilions from India to Italy and Morocco to South Korea participated, with the UAE showcasing its technological advancements.

The UAE's IT services market is projected to grow significantly, reaching $3.76 billion by 2025, according to Statista data. This growth was evident at the event, where 65 UAE organisations formed the largest entrepreneurship and digital investment delegation from the nation to a European tech event. The Ministry of Economy pavilion highlighted home-grown tech ventures tackling global challenges.

UAE Tech Economy Highlights at GITEX EUROPE

Among the innovative companies were Zeroe, focusing on carbon management for net-zero goals; Hikmah Labs, integrating AI with research; IngenioData, offering AR-based navigation solutions; and Responsive Drip Irrigation, which developed a plant-responsive irrigation system. These ventures exemplify the UAE's commitment to addressing global issues through technology.

Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, emphasised Germany's importance as the UAE’s second-largest trading partner within the EU. She stated: "Germany is now the UAE’s second largest trading partner within the EU. And Berlin as a global capital of innovation plays a central role in that story."

The Dubai Pavilion showcased AI-powered advancements in public services with participation from 12 key government and private entities. Highlights included Digital Dubai, Dubai Police, and Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), among others. Innovations like Dubai Dashboard and Salama streamlined city operations and residency services using AI technology.

Younus Al Nasser of Digital Dubai remarked on AI integration: "AI must be treated not as a tool to deploy but as a solution to integrate—strategically, ethically and sustainably." He stressed balancing innovation with accountability for national outcomes.

UAE Delegation Insights

Hazza Al Mansoori and Nora Al Matrooshi joined the UAE delegation. Hazza shared insights on aerospace evolution: "Artificial intelligence in space is something that we are experimenting with." His comments highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance space station autonomy through AI.

High-level meetings between UAE officials and European leaders underscored shared ambitions for innovation and investment growth across sectors. Alia Al Mazrouei met with Kai Wegner of Berlin and other European ministers to discuss advancing these goals.

Future Collaborations

An exclusive European Edition of Investopia was announced for GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything 2026 in Berlin. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in November 2021, Investopia aims to accelerate economic growth through partnerships and capital flow into impactful investments.

The event is part of GITEX's global network spanning multiple countries including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Germany, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. This network facilitates dialogue on technology advancements worldwide.
