UAE Launches ‘UAE Stands With Lebanon’ Campaign To Provide Medical Aid Amid Ongoing Crisis

The UAE has initiated a national relief campaign, "UAE stands with Lebanon," to aid Lebanon amidst ongoing tensions. This effort follows President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's directive to provide an urgent US$100 million relief package. In collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), the UAE sent an aircraft on Friday carrying 40 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Lebanon.

Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, stated, "These endeavours underline the UAE leadership’s dedication to providing urgent humanitarian support to countries around the world, representing the steadfast commitment of the country, its leadership, and people to the values of solidarity and cooperation. The UAE continuously strives to lead in providing aid and assistance."

The flight from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai was the first under this relief initiative. It underscores the UAE's dedication to supporting Lebanon during challenging times. This action highlights the strong fraternal ties between both nations and reflects the UAE's humanitarian vision of helping others in crises.

Al Hashimy emphasised that this flight marks the beginning of the UAE's response to Lebanon's urgent situation. She highlighted the nation's commitment to offering all possible humanitarian aid to ease suffering and address immediate needs, especially for those most vulnerable.

The UAE has expressed significant concern over escalating tensions in Lebanon and their potential impact on regional stability. The nation reaffirmed its support for Lebanon during these difficult times, stressing its unwavering stance on Lebanese unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
