UAE Chambers And Slovenia's Chamber Sign MoU For New Business Council To Boost Trade Relations

The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UAE Chambers) and Slovenia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to create a joint UAE-Slovenian Business Council. The signing event was organised by the UAE Chambers in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Slovenian Chamber.

Humaid bin Salem, Secretary-General of UAE Chambers, attended the meeting alongside a high-level delegation from Slovenia. Slobodan Šešum, Director General of Economic and Public Diplomacy at Slovenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Slovenian group. Discussions centred on enhancing cooperation between the business sectors in both countries.

UAE and Slovenia Establish Business Council

The agenda prioritised developing commercial partnerships and expanding cooperation areas. It also aimed to establish direct communication channels between the UAE's private sector and its Slovenian counterpart. The objective is to boost bilateral trade, double imports and exports in key sectors, and diversify investments in fields like health, logistics, ICT, e-commerce, tourism, real estate, financial services, insurance, and agricultural technology.

Humaid bin Salem highlighted the strong economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and Slovenia. He noted that these relations are supported by joint efforts to expand them further for mutual developmental benefits. "The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Slovenia enjoy growing economic and trade relations," he stated.

Salem emphasised that Slovenia acts as a gateway for Emirati business owners aiming to enter East and Central European markets. He expressed the UAE business community's eagerness to strengthen bilateral relations with Slovenian businesses. Establishing this council will facilitate communication between both countries' business communities.

The council will also raise awareness about investment opportunities in the UAE. Thanks to its strategic location, the UAE serves as a gateway to a consumer market exceeding two billion people. This makes it an attractive destination for investors worldwide.

Expanding Market Access

"The UAE can serve as a vital launchpad for Slovenian companies looking to enter markets in the region," Salem stated. This includes access to markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The collaboration aims to build bridges between both nations' business communities.

The MoU signifies a commitment to fostering stronger economic ties between the UAE and Slovenia. By establishing this council, both countries aim to enhance their trade relations further while exploring new investment opportunities across various sectors.
