UAE Relief Efforts Continue With 23rd Plane Delivering Medical Supplies To Beirut Airport

Beirut International Airport recently welcomed the 23rd relief plane from the UAE, part of the "UAE stands with Lebanon" initiative. This aircraft delivered 35 tonnes of medical supplies, including advanced devices and essential equipment for hospitals and health centres across Lebanon. The aid aligns with directives from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is overseen by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the Emirates International Aid Agency, highlighted the UAE's ongoing commitment to support Lebanon during its crisis. He emphasised the importance of providing medical essentials and equipment to address the significant challenges faced by Lebanon's healthcare system. "The need for medical essentials, devices and equipment that match the enormity of the crisis was greater than ever before," he noted.

The UAE has been consistently sending aid to Lebanon through air and sea routes. Al Shamsi stated that this support extends beyond Lebanon to other nations affected by conflicts and disasters. "The country will continue to offer unlimited support not only to Lebanon, but to all nations and peoples suffering from the consequences of conflicts and disasters," he added.

The "UAE stands with Lebanon" campaign began in early October last year, comprising both government aid and public contributions. Despite concluding in January, the campaign successfully delivered substantial quantities of food parcels, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to those in need.

This latest delivery underscores the UAE's dedication to alleviating Lebanon's healthcare challenges amidst its ongoing crisis. The initiative is a testament to the UAE's broader humanitarian efforts globally, ensuring aid reaches those most in need through collaboration with local and international agencies.

The relief efforts are part of a larger strategy directed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming to provide comprehensive support across various sectors such as healthcare, societal welfare, and economic stability in Lebanon.

The UAE's commitment remains steadfast as it continues to work closely with Lebanese authorities and international relief organisations. This collaboration ensures that aid is effectively distributed to those who require it most urgently.
