UAE Reaffirms Commitment To Palestinian Cause At Extraordinary Arab Summit In Cairo

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) reiterated its stance on the Palestinian issue at the Arab League Council's Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo on 4th March 2025. The UAE highlighted the urgent need for responsible actions and decisive resolutions to tackle the challenges threatening both the Palestinian cause and regional stability.

Emphasising a shift towards political and peaceful solutions, the UAE urged restraint to prevent further escalation, especially given recent developments in Gaza and occupied territories since 7th October 2023. Despite a ceasefire on 15th January 2025, facilitated by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, tensions remain high.

The UAE condemned ongoing violence and illegal Israeli actions in the West Bank. It denounced provocative statements targeting Palestinians, including remarks by Israel's Prime Minister about establishing a Palestinian state on Saudi territory. The UAE called for international intervention to halt these violations.

Firmly rejecting any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians, the UAE warned that such actions threaten regional stability. It stressed that these efforts could destabilise Egypt and Jordan while increasing tensions among Arab and Muslim communities.

The UAE highlighted that recent months of conflict in Gaza have shown temporary solutions are ineffective. Returning to pre-7th October 2023 conditions is not viable. A sustainable resolution for Gaza and the broader conflict is essential, based on a two-state solution ensuring peace alongside Israel.

Stabilising and rebuilding Gaza requires a political resolution. The UAE rejected displacement of Gaza’s residents, insisting on a legitimate Palestinian authority capable of maintaining security and law.

International Cooperation for Stability

The UAE emphasised mobilising Arab, regional, and international efforts for a sustainable solution securing regional stability. It called for active participation from countries like the US to fulfil Palestinian aspirations.

Reaffirming its commitment to supporting Palestinians, the UAE pledged diplomatic efforts to alleviate their suffering. Its initiatives align with foreign policy principles prioritising peace, justice, and protection of Palestinian rights.

Humanitarian Assistance Efforts

The UAE stated its ongoing humanitarian support through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, delivering supplies to Gaza by land, sea, and air. This reflects its foreign policy focus on stability, prosperity, and humanitarian priorities regionally and internationally.

The UAE expressed hope that the summit would foster unified Arab consensus for joint action addressing current challenges. It aims to meet regional aspirations for security, stability, and prosperity through collective efforts.
