UAE Prioritises Health Through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 Humanitarian Efforts

The UAE, guided by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasises health and well-being through its global humanitarian initiatives. "Operation Chivalrous Knight 3" is a testament to this commitment, focusing on delivering medical aid, especially in the Gaza Strip. This operation includes comprehensive health programmes that reflect the nation's dedication to providing essential healthcare services.

A significant part of these efforts is the Emirati field hospital in Gaza, which can accommodate 200 patients. Equipped with state-of-the-art operating theatres, intensive care units, and emergency departments, it is staffed by a diverse team of medical professionals. Since opening, the hospital has treated over 51,000 cases, focusing on severe injuries and complex surgeries.

In addition to the hospital's services, the UAE has delivered more than 750 tonnes of medical supplies to Gaza hospitals. This support includes vital equipment and power generators to maintain healthcare services. A large-scale polio vaccination campaign has also been launched, reaching over 640,000 children to protect them from serious diseases.

The UAE's humanitarian efforts extend beyond Gaza with a floating field hospital in Al Arish, Egypt. This facility has a capacity of 100 beds and is staffed by specialists in various fields such as general surgery and paediatrics. It has treated over 10,000 cases from the Rafah crossing, offering emergency care and complex surgeries.

Another major initiative involves providing prosthetic limbs for amputees in Gaza to aid their rehabilitation. The UAE has also evacuated patients needing urgent care from Gaza for treatment within its borders. This programme has benefited more than 1,000 children and cancer patients who have received specialised medical attention.

The floating hospital offers a comprehensive treatment environment adhering to high safety standards. It provides emergency services and complex surgical procedures for those crossing from Rafah. These integrated efforts highlight the UAE's belief that investing in health is crucial for future prosperity.

Through these initiatives, the UAE demonstrates solidarity and generosity by prioritising health as a key investment in national development. The ongoing support underscores its commitment to improving healthcare access in regions like Gaza while embodying values of compassion and assistance.
