UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Welcomed At Presidential Palace By Angolan President João Lourenço
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, visited Angola and was warmly welcomed at the Presidential Palace in Luanda. Angolan President João Manuel Lourenço received him with an official ceremony that included a 21-gun salute. The national anthems of both nations were played as part of the honouring process.
Upon arrival, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed exchanged greetings with senior Angolan ministers and officials. Meanwhile, President Lourenço extended his welcome to the UAE delegation accompanying Sheikh Mohamed. This visit signifies strengthening ties between the two countries.
The UAE delegation included several prominent figures. Among them were H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs.
Other notable members included Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention.
The delegation also featured Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism; and Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture.
Additionally present were Mohamed bin Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Adviser for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs.
Strategic Affairs Leadership
The leadership team also included Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Ali Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Khalid Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE; Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority.
Salem Ali Khamis Obaid Al Shamsi served as UAE Ambassador to Angola during this visit. The presence of these high-ranking officials underscores the importance placed on fostering diplomatic relations between the UAE and Angola.
This state visit highlights ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation across various sectors between both nations. The engagement reflects mutual interests in strengthening economic ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in diverse fields.
