Global Leaders Extend Condolences To UAE President On Sheikh Tahnoun’s Passing
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in a solemn gathering at Qasr Al Mushrif in Abu Dhabi, continued to receive condolences for the second day on the passing of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The outpouring of sympathy came from a distinguished assembly of world leaders, their delegations, and a broad spectrum of dignitaries, including Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, Sheikhs, ministers, officials, and representatives from various government agencies and diplomatic missions within the country.
Among the notable figures who extended their condolences were His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain; His Highness Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, representing His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar; and His Excellency Jassim Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Their presence underscored the deep bonds of respect and solidarity that exist within the Gulf region and beyond.
The Dubai leadership was well represented with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Council; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and CEO Emirates Airline; H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; and H.H. Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum offering their sympathies.
International condolences were also received from His Excellency Luigi Di Maio, EU Special Representative for the Gulf region; and His Excellency Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. This international gesture highlighted the global respect and recognition for the late Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed’s contributions.
Mourners prayed for God Almighty to bestow mercy upon Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed and grant his family patience and solace. They remembered his virtues, wisdom, sincerity, and generosity that marked his decades of service to his country.
Condolences were also accepted by members of the late Sheikh's family including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; among other distinguished members of the ruling family. This collective mourning not only reflected the personal loss felt by the family but also symbolized a nation in mourning for one of its esteemed leaders.
The gathering at Qasr Al Mushrif over these two days has been a testament to the high regard in which Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan was held both domestically and internationally. It also showcased the unity and strength of relationships across borders in times of sorrow.
