UAE President's Representative H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Participates In ASEAN–GCC–China Summit In Malaysia
Representing President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the ASEAN–GCC–China Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event saw participation from numerous heads of state and government leaders. In his opening remarks, H.H. Sheikh Saud conveyed greetings from President Sheikh Mohamed and wished for the summit's success.
H.H. Sheikh Saud expressed gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the people of Malaysia for their hospitality. He noted that the summit embodies openness and cooperation among participants. "It is a true embodiment of our collective aspiration to embrace diversity as a path to unity, and to become stronger through solidarity," he stated.

The UAE takes pride in its growing relationships with summit participants. H.H. Sheikh Saud remarked on the strength of these partnerships, highlighting their importance in addressing global challenges like climate change, food security, and energy transition. "The level of friendship and partnership we have reached today is not only promising, it is strong and deeply rooted," he said.
He emphasised the strategic role of the Gulf region as a bridge between Asia and the Arab world, serving as a vital corridor for trade and cultural exchange. "Our bonds with China and Southeast Asia are not merely economic; they are based on genuine friendship, mutual respect, and a shared vision for sustainable development," he added.
H.H. Sheikh Saud praised the summit's organisation as an example of successful collaboration. He highlighted how partnerships among GCC, ASEAN countries, and China demonstrate a convergence of cultures that sends a global message about trust and dialogue being essential for future progress.
He expressed confidence in Southeast Asia's rise alongside China, foreseeing new opportunities for innovation-driven growth across the region. The UAE remains committed to deepening these partnerships while exploring broader avenues for growth aligned with its vision for global stability.
Fostering Economic Growth
The trilateral summit aims to enhance trade and investment ties among GCC, ASEAN, and China by fostering a conducive business environment. This includes encouraging intra-regional trade flows and expanding investments in key sectors through public-private partnerships that support sustainable development.
The UAE delegation included notable figures such as Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi from Ras Al Khaimah’s Investment Office; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Ahmed Al Sayegh; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar; Khalil Mohammed Sharif Foulathi; Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri; and Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri.
H.H. Sheikh Saud stressed that unity is crucial now more than ever globally. "We in the UAE strongly believe that collective efforts and international cooperation are the best ways to uplift our nations," he said.
He urged participating nations to collaborate towards a future where relations go beyond trade or technology but are rooted in trustful friendships with shared beliefs in this trilateral partnership's potential.
H.H. Sheikh Saud concluded by reaffirming UAE’s dedication towards sustaining cooperation among GCC members along with ASEAN countries plus China while thanking Malaysia’s pivotal role during this summit organisation process.
