UAE President Cup For Purebred Arabian Horses Begins Tomorrow In Abu Dhabi With AED10.8 Million Prize Pool

The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is preparing to host the 32nd UAE President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses on Sunday, 15th December 2024. This prestigious event will take place in Abu Dhabi and promises to be a highlight in the equestrian calendar.

The competition will feature elite horses and riders from both local and international arenas. They will compete fiercely for a total prize purse of AED10.8 million across seven rounds. Ali Al Shaiba, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, expressed his gratitude to the Supreme Organising Committee for selecting the Abu Dhabi Turf Club as the venue.

This year's edition marks a notable increase in the prize pool by AED5.2 million, raising it to AED10.8 million. The event includes seven races, with the UAE President Cup, Purebred Arabians Grand Prix (Group 1), offering an impressive AED8 million prize pool. This sets the stage for intense competition among top-tier purebred Arabian horses over a distance of 2,200 metres.

The President Cup for Thoroughbreds also presents a substantial prize of AED1 million. The track is ready to welcome elite horses, riders, and trainers from around the globe, ensuring a thrilling experience for all participants and spectators alike.

Established in 1994 by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE President Cup was created to emphasise the significance of purebred Arabian horses and their exceptional traits in racing. Over time, it has become a globally recognised event that attracts top racehorse owners, trainers, and jockeys worldwide.

"The current edition is exceptional in the final leg of the UAE President’s Cup World Series for Purebred Arabian Horses," said Ali Al Shaiba to Emirates News Agency (WAM). His comments reflect the anticipation surrounding this year's competition.

The UAE President Cup continues to be celebrated as a pinnacle event in purebred Arabian racing worldwide. It remains a testament to its enduring legacy and importance within the equestrian community.
