UAE And Poland Explore New Areas Of Trade And Economic Cooperation For Mutual Growth
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, recently led a delegation to Warsaw. The visit aimed to explore new avenues for trade and economic collaboration with Poland. This follows Polish President Andrzej Duda's visit to the UAE, building on a 2022 program that encourages business partnerships and knowledge exchange.
During his time in Warsaw, Al Zeyoudi met with key Polish officials, including Wojciech Kolarski from the President's Office. These discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries. Al Zeyoudi also met Adam Szłapka, Poland's Minister for European Affairs, to discuss boosting bilateral trade.

Al Zeyoudi engaged with Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and Paweł Jabłoński from Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Their talks centred on collaborating in sectors like renewable energy and agriculture. Additionally, discussions with Dariusz Standerski from the Ministry of Digital Affairs explored cooperation in advanced technology.
The UAE’s strategic advantages as a business hub were highlighted by Al Zeyoudi. He emphasised its prime location and investor-friendly environment as key factors for business growth. The UAE serves as a commercial gateway to Asia and Africa, offering significant opportunities for expansion.
Al Zeyoudi noted Poland’s importance as a strategic partner in enhancing the UAE's economic engagement with Europe. He stated, "Poland and the UAE share a commitment to rapid development and modernization, making us natural partners in pursuing interconnected and collective prosperity."
The stability of non-oil trade between the two nations was emphasised by Al Zeyoudi. He mentioned that despite global trade slowdowns, their economic partnership remains strong. Key sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, and agriculture offer immense potential for collaboration.
Investment Figures and Future Prospects
In 2024, trade turnover between the UAE and Poland reached US$2.2 billion. By the end of 2023, UAE investments in Poland totalled approximately US$180 million across various sectors like aviation and tourism. Meanwhile, Polish FDI in the UAE was US$272 million in 2022.
The delegation included Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Hawi from the Ministry of Investment and Safeya Hashem Al-Safi from the Ministry of Economy. The visit underscores the UAE’s vision to enhance its role as a global leader in trade while strengthening ties with European nations.
