As the world anticipates COP29 in Baku, Abdulla Al Balalaa, UAE’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainable Affairs, shared details about the UAE's involvement. The nation will feature a pavilion and host over 60 discussions and announcements during the two-week event. This participation underscores the UAE's dedication to climate action and collaboration.
Abdulla Al Balalaa emphasised, "COP29 is a pivotal moment in our collective climate journey - a year since we achieved global agreement with the UAE Consensus and our shared ambition to keep 1.5c within reach, and three months in advance of when countries will submit their nationally determined contributions to outline their transition plans." The UAE is committed to working hard and collaborating effectively to raise ambitions and speed up the global energy transition.

The UAE Pavilion at COP29 will be situated in the Blue Zone from 12th November to 21st November 2024. It aims to foster dynamic discussions through its extensive programming schedule. The pavilion will bring together experts from various fields, including government officials, private sector leaders, academics, and youth. These stakeholders will engage in more than 60 thematic sideline programs over two weeks. The goal is to exchange ideas and co-create solutions for pressing climate challenges.
The UAE Pavilion's theme, "Accelerating Action Together," highlights the nation's climate journey. It showcases achievements like the UAE Consensus, COP28 legacy impacts, progress in biodiversity, climate finance commitments, Net Zero goals, food and water resilience building efforts, and safeguarding lives.
