UAE's Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi Claims Second Gold Medal At Gulf Beach Games In Oman
Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi, part of the UAE National Paragliding Team, secured his second gold medal at the 3rd Gulf Beach Games in Muscat. This achievement increases the UAE's gold medal count to three, with two from Al Hammadi in paragliding and one from the national sailing team in the Optimist category.
The UAE's national paragliding team also celebrated a silver medal in the overall team category. The team included Abdullah Nasser, Mohammed Abdullah Al Jasmi, Tariq Al Obaidli, Mohammed Jaber, and Rashid Al Samahi. In total, they earned two golds and one silver at the event.

Nasser Al Neyadi, President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, praised these results as a testament to years of training and support. "On behalf of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, we dedicate this proud accomplishment to our wise leadership and the UAE National Olympic Committee," he stated.
Al Neyadi expressed gratitude towards the UAE National Olympic Committee for its ongoing support. He highlighted their role in fostering an environment conducive to nurturing talent and ensuring strong representation regionally and internationally.
Yousef Al Hammadi, Vice President of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, shared his pride in the team's performance. "This success reflects the dedication and unity of our athletes," he said. Their achievements underscore hard work and commitment to excellence.
In beach handball at the Gulf Beach Games, the UAE men's team achieved a second consecutive win by defeating Bahrain 2–1 in a penalty shootout. They had previously beaten Saudi Arabia by the same margin after losing to Oman initially.
Sailing and Athletics Highlights
The UAE national sailing team showed promise on their first day of individual races. Khalifa Ahmed Al Rumaithi led in Optimist class while Othman Abdul Karim Al Hammadi topped ILCA 6 (Men’s). Among women competitors, Dhohaa Al Beshr led ILCA 6 with Marwa Al Hammadi leading ILCA 4.
The athletics team began training upon arrival in Muscat for upcoming competitions. On Wednesday, Mohammed Hassan Khairi Al Noubi and Salem Ali Hassan Al Baloushi will compete in men’s 60m sprint while Fatima Al Baloushi and Mahra Abdulrahim participate in women’s 60m sprint.
Upcoming Events
The UAE open-water swimming team arrived for races at Qurum Beach scheduled on Wednesday and Friday. The squad includes Ali Al Qubaisi, Zayed Al Jabri, and Hussein Al Sayagh. Athletics events will continue with long jump alongside tent pegging competitions featuring individual sword events.
