UAE Ministry Of Investment Hosts UAE-Norway Investment Forum To Boost Economic Ties
The UAE Ministry of Investment recently organised the UAE-Norway Investment Forum in Oslo. This event coincided with H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi’s visit to Norway. The forum attracted senior officials, investors, and entrepreneurs from both nations, focusing on investment opportunities and the UAE's business-friendly environment.
The forum emphasised the UAE's incentives for businesses, encouraging Norwegian and international companies to use Abu Dhabi as a strategic base. This aligns with the global economic shift towards knowledge and innovation across key sectors. The event highlighted the UAE’s role as a gateway to Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Participants at the forum underscored the UAE's competitive advantages. These include its strategic location connecting global markets, advanced infrastructure, and ability to attract top talent worldwide. The flexible legislative framework also supports investment by offering key incentives for investors.
Mohammed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment, delivered a welcoming address. He emphasised transitioning towards sustainable, knowledge-based economic models. "The UAE’s economic vision aligns with Norway’s focus on sustainable growth," he stated, highlighting revenue diversification and fostering an innovation-driven economy.
The forum featured panel discussions involving senior officials and representatives from leading companies in both countries. Notable Norwegian companies included Equinor, Yara, and Aker ASA. Major UAE companies such as ADNOC, Masdar, and AD Ports Group also participated in these discussions.
Espen Barth Eide, Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs, was among other notable speakers at the event. Tomas Norvoll from Norway's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries also addressed attendees. Their speeches focused on enhancing economic ties between the two nations across priority sectors.
